On Thursday, June 30, the Nantucket Arts Council will present the fifth annual Shakespeare in the Garden Party. This widely acclaimed and eagerly anticipated event is the main fundraiser for the NAC. Acclaimed “the best party on the island”, the event features strolling musicians, a fire thrower, falconer and of course the main event—a lively performance from a play by Shakespeare directed by Meredith Martin.
While you enjoy flowing water gardens you can partake of the exotic tavern fare, local brew and have an opportunity to bid on some unique items in the silent auction. Guests are encouraged to dress festively or partake of an assortment of hats and capes available under the starry blue tent. So follow the flags on the Madaket Road to the magical Hither Creek Gardens of Beverly Hall at 44 Tennessee Ave. The NAC guarantees you one of the most outstanding parties on the island for only $100 per person. It’s a perfect way to welcome the summer season and enjoy the enchantment of a festive Elizabethan evening right in our own backyard. The festivities start at 5:30.
