Katherine, who goes by Katie, is an illustrator who graduated from Nantucket High School in 2014. She plans to enter the field of concept design for film or television and possibly produce graphic novels. She will attend UMass Dartmouth where she will major in illustration, taking advantage of an excellent digital art program of studies.

While in college, Katherine intends to seek commissions to jumpstart her career, perhaps through on-line sales of products utilizing illustrations.



Her scholarship funds will be used toward college tuition and fees. Katherine’s upcoming education is very important to her after experiencing some disappointment that high school courses in visual and studio arts were limited and that her academic schedule prevented her from taking the arts classes that interested her.
